Gotta love the 4am trips to the ER
Z (11 mo old, youngest) has croup, so yuck! And I slept about 4 hours last night. I realized I haven’t gotten a full night sleep in a couple of years. I guess one’s body get’s used to it.
Did a little self care today, got a massage. After the trip to the ER & the cooking episode with back spasm-ing, I decided to get it worked on a little. Went to Center for Neuromuscular Massage Therapy and got some deep-tissue work done. So why is it that it feels like I should be doing this everyday, but haven’t had a massage in years? It was so divine.
And I used to be very good at taking time for myself. Also not great at that anymore either. Would love to hear tips on how to have some “me time” without breaking the bank, or if there are splurges that are completely worth it.
My top list of “me time” ideas are:
1. Pedicure (I almost always ditch the mani, as it is ruined before I walk out the door)
2. Take myself to a movie (thanks Mel for the long-standing idea)
3. Fancy coffee at a coffee shop somewhere
4. Roaming target, sometimes buying, sometimes not
5. A book, lot’s of time it is sci-fi, and I have no idea why I am so addicted to that genre (Orson Scott Card is my fav)
6. Gossip girl, Mad Men, Glee, or Ugly Betty
7. A new song off of iTunes (and I don’t have to buy the whole album)
8. Taking our big, dumb, yellow lab to the dog park. By myself. While husband stays home with kids and wrestles.
9. Ear plugs and a glass of wine, while said husband wrestles with 3 kids and big, dumb yellow lab.
10. Dessert (I know this goes against every Weight Watchers, healthy living thing, but generally it so satisfies) (p.s. I do need to get rid of the Halloween candy)
